Help Nadine Wildwood & The SOMA Collective Relaunch SOMA Sound & Events: A Beacon for Sovereignty, Community, and Creative Expression
Campaign Goal: $25,000
Deadline : September 1, 2025
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Fellow Visionaries,
❤️The Story:
My name is Nadine Wildwood, and for 18 years, I’ve called the vibrant mountain town of Nelson, BC, my home. I have been raising my daughter on my own now for 15 years. Within this journey as a single mother I have committed myself to develop and expand my skills as a sound healer, yoga teacher, ecstatic dance DJ, and passionate community builder. I’ve dedicated my life to fostering spaces where artists, healers, and dreamers can come together to create a better world—one grounded in sovereignty, authentic community, and inter-independence.
Three years ago, I poured my heart and soul into launching SOMA
Sound & Events, a curated venue and gallery in the heart of
downtown Nelson at 444 Baker Street. SOMA has become a sanctuary for
the healing and expressive arts: hosting sound baths, intimate
listening concerts, weekly somatic breathwork sessions, ecstatic
dance events, yoga classes which include Community Yoga; a
collaboration with Māta Ji’s Foundation, Kirtan, art exhibitions,
and many other conscious gatherings that uplift and connect people.
We’ve co-produced outdoor dance experiences, hosted local and
touring artists/musicians, and built a network of like-minded souls
committed to personal and collective growth. Through it all, SOMA
has touched countless lives—yours might be one of them!
But here’s the truth: I’ve endeavoured this dream entirely
on my own, without much background in finance or business acumen
to guide me. What started as a labor of love has led to
mounting challenges, including a $25,000 debt from operational
costs, venue maintenance, and the realities of running a grassroots
space in a small town. Without support, SOMA risks closing
its doors, and with it, the loss of a vital hub for artists,
wellness practitioners and conscious community builders who are
working toward a more sovereign and interconnected future.
This is why I’m turning to you—those who I have connected with
throughout the years of service, special events, workshops and
shared moments of inspiration. This Visionary Fund campaign is my
appeal for help to reset and relaunch SOMA as a thriving member
based grassroots healing & expressive arts collective.
👪️Why we’re inviting our extended community to help us:
- Clear the immediate debt so we can proceed with a month to month lease and avoid closure.
- Build a core team to support the ongoing operations and vision.
- Keep the doors open for programming that uplifts, transforms, and connects.
🔭What we’re looking for:
- Financial contributions in the immediate future to keep things running while we reinvent the future of SOMA💸
- Collaborators who believe in this vision as a progressive movement, and who have experience in community-led organizations👏
- Legacy/angel investors who align with this movement and want to offer their financial support to get this off the ground and flowing into the community🌱
🙏If collaboration or investing sounds like you, please reach out to Nadine at somastudiovenue@gmail.com.
Every dollar counts, and if contributing isn’t possible right now, please share this campaign with your networks. Your shares could connect us to someone whose life SOMA has already transformed or who resonates with our mission. I’ve been grateful (“Dhanyosmi”) for every connection, every sound wave, and every dance step we’ve shared.
Now, let’s come together to ensure SOMA continues as a lighthouse for creativity and community in Nelson and beyond. Join me in this visionary reset—donate today, and let’s build a world where artists and healers thrive.
"I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples." - Mother Teresa
With deep gratitude and love,
