Imagine living in a house where you don’t have to pay any bills because your food, water, and electricity are all included... 

This is possible. And I want to build it! 

My name is Amber Abbott, I work as a Hypnotherapist and Conscious Rights Activist. Three years ago, I left California to escape the rat race of working just to survive. I did it! I finally live in a way where I feel free and I am able to choose what I want to do with my time, rather than being stuck and trapped by bills. I’ve known from a young age that there’s something wrong with this system. Now that I’m out, I can see the problems even more clearly and have time to find and create solutions.

Wait, what the heck is an Earthship?

An Earthship is a house that aims to sustain life for those who live in it. Just like a spaceship - but it’s on earth :) 

These homes are fully sustainable, built from recycled materials and earth, absolutely beautiful, AND provide all the modern comforts we desire! They are designed to heat and cool themselves, collect rainwater, create electricity, reuse and distribute waste, and grow food. What else do you need?

Earthships are built to withstand the test of time. They are projected to last over 500 years and be both fire and earthquake-proof. The structural walls are built from used tires packed full of dirt and clay to make them incredibly strong. The front wall of the house is made of glass to take in the heat from the sun and grow a magnificent indoor garden. Depending on what type of climate the house is in, things like living roofs (literally a roof covered in living plants!), solar panels, and other systems will be used to help control the temperature of the house.

Earthships have rainwater harvesting systems to collect rainwater. This water goes through a filtration system to be used for drinking and showering. After flowing through the tap, it goes to the indoor garden to water the plants, then to the toilets, and from there is transformed into rich compost providing nourishment for the gardens that surround the house. The best part is, you don't have to sacrifice beauty or comfort for design. These homes are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen and can be built to include modern conveniences like dishwashers and washing machines.

Why I’m raising money

I’m raising money for this education because there’s no way I will be able to accomplish the big dreams I have without community support. We can do so much more when we shift from individuality to collective collaboration. This project doesn’t just end with learning how to build this Earthship - there’s so much more! 

I have wanted to attend this academy for over ten years, but as a single mother with a special needs child, I was always struggling with no extra time or money to invest. Now that my son is grown I have much more time, however, while the work I do is incredibly rewarding, it is not very lucrative. I put my deposit down for this course back in February after being struck by a bolt of inspiration and urgency. Watching the rapid deterioration of our societal systems and how much people are struggling, I decided the time is NOW!  

I knew the when, the where… but how?  

Earlier this year was living in Costa Rica exploring other similar properties and meeting like-minded people when I met the founder of an incredible project called Visionary Fund. VF is this crowdfunding platform, it's similar to gofundme but BETTER! It is designed to help visionaries like myself who want to make the world a better place, and the best part is you get to keep 100% of the money you raise. I was able to raise the money for my deposit in a few weeks, but then life happened and I was required to go back to the USA to support my family.

Last week I received an email from Earthship Academy reminding me about my upcoming training. I asked if I could move my deposit to a later training but they informed me that I would lose a portion of the deposit AND the price of the training will increase for future sessions. 

But with your help I can still make it happen! If I raise the money for tuition by November 7th, I’ll still be able to attend this session and won’t lose my chance to go.

The Earthship Community (P.S. - You’re Invited!)

The big, audacious goal is to create a sanctuary of Safe Space on this Earth. I know this is my mission in this lifetime. I have a grand vision for a community that will stand in defiance of the current ways of the world. Instead of being trapped in a cycle of work, pay bills, eat, sleep, repeat, the people in this community will have all of their basic needs provided. It sounds impossible, but it’s not. 

To achieve this dream, I have enrolled myself in the Living the Off Grid Dream course and the Earthship Biotecture course. The L.T.O.G.D. course is helping me lay the groundwork for purchasing the property and developing the community, and the upcoming Earthship course will teach me how to effectively build an Earthship. 

The Earthship will serve as the Community Center, the heart of the community that brings us all together.

This space is meant to be for everyone, but it’s especially open to those who have contributed along the way. The ultimate plan is to purchase a large piece of land and create a fully sustainable eco community and retreat center. There will be affordable options for people who want to live there full or part time as well as vacation and retreat opportunities for those who need a safe place to rest and heal.
